All primary schools across England now receive additional funding into their school budgets which is to support the development of PE in schools and help to raise the fitness level of our children. The amount that the school will receive this year has been increased and will be £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.

At Holly Hill we will continue to use some of our funding to employ specialist PE teachers. Their  role is to deliver PE across the school alongside the class teachers. This strategy enables us to upskill our teachers and teaching assistants, and so create a level of sustainability for the future should the funding cease. They also run some additional sports clubs which has enabled more children to access PE based clubs.

We will also so be offering free after school sports clubs for KS1 and KS2 this year and hope to establish a school football team. We are very excited to announce that we will be using some of our sports money to buy balance bikes for Foundation Stage and train two members of staff to deliver the 'Balancability' programme. This will enable us to pledge that all children will learn to ride a bike as part of their Early Years experience at Holly Hill.

Below is a more detailed breakdown of how we intend to spend this year's funding. We regularly evaluate this spending to ensure that it is having impact and making a difference to the sporting opportunities our children receive.
