WELCOME TO KS1
Meet the Team!
What a Performance Topic
This half term, our topic is 'What a Performance!' and it all kicked off with a super cinema style viewing of The Greatest Showman in the hall with popcorn and other treats. This was a great hook into the topic. Following on from this, we welcomed Peter Sensible, the circus skills man, to teach the whole of KS1 how to perform circus tricks such as juggling, hula hooping and plate spinning. Our main text this half term is Leon and the Place Between, which is a magnificent book, allowing the children develop their language and writing all the way through.
Circus Skills Day
We hope that you all enjoyed the two week half term break and that the children are refreshed and ready for Autumn 2.
Please do not forget that this Thursday, 7th November is our
Key Stage 1 WINTER WARMER
we would like to invite all parents, carers, family members and friends to join us from 2pm to 4pm in the Key Stage 1 hall. The children will be busy this week baking treats which we will sell but any additional contributions would be very much appreciated. We are also hoping to hold a raffle so if you have anything suitable please donate it. All the money raised will go directly back into providing resources for the children in key stage 1.
There is no such things as bad weather only bad clothing (so the saying goes!)
We will try to upload photos of our day as soon as possible.
We recommend that you bring PE kits to school on a Monday and leave them at school for the week just in case we get any extra opportunities to do PE or our days have to change. Please remember to remove earrings before school on PE days. For health and safety reasons children who are unable to take their own earrings out will not be allowed to participate in PE.
Puffin: Monday and Wednesday
Wren: Tuesday and Thursday
Our topic this term is Enchanted World.
