How to spend a day at Holly Hill!!

Which Bird Will You Be?

When you join Holly Hill you be placed into one of our classes! All of our classes are named after birds.

We start with CYGNETS in Foundation 1

In Foundation 2 you could become a ROBIN or a GOLDFINCH.

When you move into Key Stage 1 you might be a PUFFIN (y1), a WREN (y1/2) or a WOODPECKER (Y2).

Key Stage 2 is in a different building to Key Stage 1 and in these Year groups you become bigger birds!

In Y3 and Y4 you may be a DOVE (Y3), a SWALLOW (Y3/4) or a DOVE (Y4).

Our Year 5s and 6s are the largest of all the birds, so in Y5 you could be an OWL, in Y5/6 you could be a SWAN or in Y6 a FALCON.

We're very proud of our classes.

Look out for our class bunting in the school entrance designed by our very creative classes.

Cygnets (Foundation 1/Nursery)

If you join us as a  Cygnets you are with us for six sessions per week - either mornings or afternoons plus one full day. This is where the foundations of your school life are laid.

We prepare you for the exciting learning journey that is ahead of you through a play based approach and you get to spend lots of time learning outdoors including woodland sessions with Mrs. Keegans in Whisper's Woodland and the opportunity to learn to ride a bike with Balanceability sessions.

The work you will do here will continue to build on everything you learned as a CYGNET.We also start to get you ready for moving up into Key Stage 1.

A lot of your learning is done through play. Your teachers will think very carefully about your developmental needs and how you learn.
