Drama club is back!!

We’re back and already thinking about our next show!

As a bit of a teaser as to what this will be we have been working on character studies, particularly Fairy Tale characters and the differences between “Goodies” and “Baddies”!

Because there is so much that happens around the Christmas we have decided to do our performance in January, it will be a pantomime and in true pantomime tradition we will have a few surprises!

Watch this space!!!!

Wow!!

The Summer performance was amazing guys!!

You blew us all away!

Everyone was so proud of you!

Keep an eye out for some photo’s from that superb night!

Summer Performance.

It’s not very long now until we will be treating you all to our summer performance.

Rehearsals are going well and all the children are working extremely hard, Thank you so much for all your support and allowing your children to stay until 5pm on Tuesdays.

I do apologise for the sudden cancellation of the Thursday night rehearsal and the confusion this caused, I’m afraid there has been an awful lot going on and time became difficult!

However we will be rehearsing on Thursday 7th July until 5pm,  I do realise some children are away on a residential but we have to carry on without them.

Please bring in your BLACK TOP AND TROUSERS, if you haven't already, as we need to start Dress rehearsals.

Tickets will be on sale soon in the office, look out for the posters around school. There are no restrictions as to how many you may buy. It promises to be a wonderful evening with refreshments on sale during an interval. The evening should last around 2hours long finishing approx. 8pm providing all runs smoothly. Tickets will be £2 per adult and children will be free, all money from the ticket sales helps to pay for licences, scripts, costumes and pre performance party food!

Speaking of which!, we will be having a pre performance party after school on Wednesday 20th for all our cast. It’s a chance for us to relax before the show and get into our costumes (It also saves Mrs Parrwood panicking about everyone being there on time and ready!!)

Cannot wait for the performance!

Remember

WEDNESDAY 20th JULY 6pm

Some important dates for you all.

Extra Drama rehearsal  30th June and 18th July

Dress rehearsal to school 5th July

Performance  Wednesday 20th July 6pm onwards.

Thank you

SUMMER TIME!!!!

Yes it’s that time of year again!! Time for us to work on our end of year performance and this year it’s a big one, not letting any cats out the bag yet tho!!

Rehearsals are well under way and we will be sending letters out soon with all the important dates on.

Keep learning those lines guys!!!!

Tune in time!!!

A small hint to the theme of our Christmas offering this year!! We need you to have a look at some of the news programs on TV this week, don’t worry not the whole program but maybe the odd report here and there. Try to get a feel for how the reporters convey the news and talk to each other, the expressions on their faces, the type of voices they use.

How would you tell the world important news??

Welcome Back!!!

We’ve got off to a flying start this year with so many new faces!!

Last year we ended on such a high with the success of Alice that many more children have joined us to be part of the fun.

So far we have a project in mind for Christmas and something really big for the Summer! We’re keeping this one very close to our chest but keep an eye out for some very excited children and even more excited Mrs Parrwood, Miss Brown and Miss Priestley!!!!!

It’s going to be a fab year!!!!!

Alice The Musical photographs.

Don't Forget!!!

All costumes asked for to be brought into school as soon as possible in a named carrier bag! Also bring in your reply slips about the pre-show party!!!!

frownfrownfrown

We are so busy!!!!

It’s been a while since we last updated our page as we have been working on our contribution to the school Christmas Carol Concert!! We are keeping it top secret at the moment so that you will have a nice surprise when you come to watch!!

The concert is scheduled for Thursday 18th December but we are unaware of the time at present.

We hope to see you there to see all our hard work in action.

There is NO Drama club on Tues 2nd December due to Hathersage trip!

See you back on Tues 9th Dec

Getting all emotional!!

Tuesday 14th October.

Tonight in Drama we got in touch with our emotions!

smileysadwinkfrownblushcoolangry

Miss Brown set us all the task of choosing 6 emotions to put into a scene of our choice, we could set our scene at school, at home, playing with friends ANYTHING!!

Mrs Parrwood told us we had to express our emotions through our facial expressions and body language.

We had to act out our scenes without using the words to explain our emotions as the audience had to guess what we were feeling!

Some of us chose to be a proud Headmaster!

Some of us were angry with friends who wouldn't play!

We had dancers who were frustrated at losing competitions!

And we had children over the moon who had done well on tests!

It was all very emotional!!

We pulled some very serious faces and used our bodies brilliantly to show how we felt!

Well done Everyone you were great!!!

Here are a few pictures of us at work!

frownLet's Get Dramatic!!!!!frown

Drama club is up and running again with lots of exciting plans for the year ahead!!

We all meet on a Tuesday evening after school till 4:30pm in the main hall to play Drama games and work on performances so that all our parents can enjoy an evening at the theatre!!!!!

We are full at the moment but if you want to come and join Mrs Parrwood and Miss Brown for all the drama fun then come and see one of us and we'll pop you on a waiting list so that as soon as a space is available we'll squeeze you in.

In the meantime here's a peek at our last performance.

We performed a play called "School day musical"

which Mrs Parrwood wrote.

It used all our favourite show tunes!
